Charge
The Libraries Cabinet is Clemson Libraries’ senior leadership group.
Goals:
- Provide leadership and advocate for the entire Libraries organization.
- Advance the mission, vision, and values of the Libraries.
- Set the strategic directions of the Libraries as part of the strategic planning process and ensure that resources and structures are aligned with the strategic priorities.
- Make informed decisions as to policy and priorities, allocating resources, and communicating with Libraries staff, the University, and the external community.
- Maintain a future-oriented perspective, regularly scanning the environment for developments affecting libraries and higher education, and shares that information with the group, and the Libraries as a whole.
- Positively influence organizational culture by modeling professional principles, values, and ethics, and by rewarding behaviors and activities that support Libraries strategic goals. The Cabinet pays particular attention to diversity and organizational development.
- Steward Libraries resources, ensuring that resources are used wisely and effectively to meet the information needs of our users.
- Play a leadership role in Clemson Libraries activities, partnerships, and communications and represent the Libraries at the national and international level.
