Organizational Development Committee

Charge

To promote a welcoming workplace where individuals can thrive and feel supported at Clemson Libraries and to encourage employee growth and effectiveness through development opportunities, transparency in decision making, open communication, collaboration, and change management.

Goals:

  • Complete annual projects assigned by the Associate Dean for Organizational Performance and Inclusion (AD-OPI). These are projects that require library-wide input and benefit from committee involvement.
  • Projects are assigned annually after a conversation between the AD-OPI and the Chair(s) of the committee in July or August.
  • Regular 1-on-1s with the AD-OPI and Chair(s) will promote transparent communication regarding project progress
  • Provide a sounding board for the AD-OPI regarding employee organizational development needs and concerns.
  • Continue to fulfill the following roles:
  • Inform employees of available professional development opportunities.
  • Plan annual or biannual Employee Development Day(s) to be held each summer or spring and fall.

Duration:

Serving staggered 3-year appointments to ensure overlap and continuity in leadership. One faculty member and one staff member will be appointed each year.
